*Who Likes Listening To Porn Funk?*

I came across this compilation called "Porn Grooves" not too long ago from a nifty company called Secret Stash Records. It features the stylings of an obscure band called the The Upstrokes not to be confused with the Ska Punk band that has the same name.
This Lp is only sold on vinyl so get it while it's still available!

*How Do You Say::Eivets Rednow*

One of my first Stevie Wonder records that I got was Eivets Rednow. I scored this in Franklin County, Ohio at a 7-11 that happen to have a records for sale bin. The thing about it is that I had no idea it was Stevie's album until I read the credits. Considering his name is spelled backwards on the sleeve I was rather surprised that this was my score.
When I was djing at Bob's Salon in LES, NYC the security guys girlfriend was in disbelief that I owned this records apparently it was a childhood favorite of her's.

Wikipedia says: Eivets Rednow (prominently featuring "Alfie" by Burt Bacharach and Hal David) is a 1968 instrumental album released by Stevie Wonder under the pseudonym Eivets Rednow on the Gordy (Motown) label.

So as of lately i've been on a early 80's R&B resurgence. An example of one of these fly by night one hit wonders is Sybil. Best know for her cover of Dionne Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over" she still tours the world based off that one song.

I've always been a fan of Smokey Robinson, in this instance I was stoked when I scored this record years ago. It's the soundtrack for a movie called "Big Time" on Tamia records in 1977.

*Mark The 45 King Turns The Party Out*

If you're a party go-er/Dj/NYC resident then you know about the great "The 45 King".His biggest record to date is Jay-Z's Hard Knock Life, which to me is mediocre compared to his track record of goodness stemming for the 80's on.
My favorite records he produced were a bunch of singles/Lp cuts he made for The Native Tongues collective, folks like Jungle Bros, Tribe Called Quest, ect..
This record came out in 1988 on Tuff City Records, which I believe is now defunkt. Vocals by M.C. La Kim. It includes the original edit of "The 900 Number"
This cut is called "Turn The Party Out"

Bill Summers is just one of the guys that rolls with the times. Judging from the span of his recordings I would have to say that he's a well rounded versitle musician. Sounds that ranges from mid-70's funk & soul to disco early 80's R&B..never the less this song kicks ass!!
